Gudetama Cafe: A Kawaii Culinary Experience for All Ages

Finally had a chance to visit before they move! Reading the reviews I knew what I was expecting, but it actually surpassed my expectations! The food and atmosphere were great, I loved all the Gude decor I ordered the beef bowl, it was really delicious, along with the salad. It came with a sesame dressing I like. The drinks were good too, I had a banana matcha latte, delicious! Price was reasonable, but I bought a goodie bag with have me a discount and a plush Gudetama, so it was a great deal! I hope they open the next location soon, I'll definitely come back!

Food is your typical breakfast stuff, nothing special, just average breakfast items, just the egg themed and decor have people going crazy for it. Dont get me wrong, worth a shot once, but thats about it. Could be the reason they shutting down January 4th 2026. Definitely on the pricey side. Service was great and the location is not the best.

Worth the hype for any gudetama lover! I went to the Gudetama Cafe in Taipei when it was open years ago but since then it’s been closed there’s Gudetama decorations everywhere here, from the ceilings, the many plushies throughout, the themed food, drinks, and the exclusive Gudetama merch being sold here- I could not stop smiling the whole time I was here. The food was ok, but themed cafes aren’t really meant to be a culinary experience anyways lol. The icing on the cake that really made my day were the guys working here on the days I visited. I had told them I was visiting from NYC to make a stop here and they were so welcoming and kind. Definitely recommend for any Gudetama lovers or anyone looking for a cute eating experience with multiple photo ops

We stopped by on a Saturday morning. It was fairly busy, but our order was taken quickly, and there was plenty of available seating. I tried the Cheesy scramble with tots. My companions had the Teriyaki chicken and Burger with fries. The food was tasty, but the drinks were refreshing and delicious. I had the Creme Brulee cold brew. We also tried the Mango milk and Matcha milk tea. The atmosphere was fun and service was outstanding

Great Customers, and Great Food. I got snooze burger. It was pretty tasty and good I wish they have more Japanese Characters Cafe like Rilakkuma, that will be cool.

We came on Easter for the Easter egg hunt and it was so worth it! Staff was very friendly and went out of the way to make sure everyone got Easter eggs, even the adults! (each egg had candy, free food, or prizes) Food was surprisingly good! I liked how they had different sauce choices (Ketchup, spicy ketchup, Tapatio, spicy mayo, ranch) The whole place was too cute. Literally everything, from the table, walls, toothpick, etc. was gudetama. The only suggestion I have is that they advertise more on Instagram. The only reason I found out about the Easter egg hunt was because I personally contacted them to find out if they were open on the holiday or not. I feel they would bring more customers in if they posted more

I didn’t have very high expectations going in, thinking it would be just another cutesy café with novelty items—but I was pleasantly surprised from the moment we arrived. The creative “open” sign and the warm greeting set a welcoming tone right away. Our wait was short, and when the food arrived, it was not only adorable but genuinely delicious. We even received a surprise gift of tasty treats, which was such a thoughtful touch. Every member of the staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient. Overall, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We can’t wait to go back!

I’m so glad I got to visit the Gudetama Cafe today, but it’s incredibly bittersweet because today is officially their last day before closing. We tried a bit of everything: the Chicken Katsu Curry Bowl, the Beef Bowl, and the Bacon Egg Sandwich. The food was actually very good, high quality, and so unique. I am very sad that today is their final day. California is losing such a cute spot! I truly hope they decide to reopen one day in the future. Stay lazy, Gudetama!
